The St. Peter's Difference

St. Peter’s Preschool and Kindergarten’s mission is to demonstrate and teach the greatest commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all of your soul, and all of your mind” (Matthew 22:37.

At St. Peter’s Preschool and Kindergarten, we provide a Christ-centered environment and child-centered curriculum. Our hands-on approach to learning helps children gain independence, build self-confidence, and foster creativity. We strive to balance the spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs of each child, allowing them to mature at their own pace and deepen their spiritual connections and Godly values. We believe that every child is special, and we help them be the best they can be. St. Peter’s welcomes students of all races, colors, and national or ethnic origins.

Our Classes

Serving Preschool ages 2 - Kindergarten

Tiny 2’s Classes

(6 Children Max)

The primary focus is to cultivate a loving relationship between the child and the teachers and to develop positive beginning social skills with their peers. Language development and cooperative play are fostered through a variety of activities. Our Toddler preschool class is designed for younger two-year-old’s (children who turn three by February of the current school year must be enrolled in the older 2-year-old preschool program).

This program offers a great opportunity for our younger friends to take that first step into a school
setting where they can begin to learn social skills, work on separation from parents and
guardians, and begin to get comfortable away from home while allowing for tremendous
flexibility in scheduling and expectation.

Kindergarten Class

St. Peter’s Kindergarten program is designed to provide students with a solid academic start to their school career. We do this by strengthening their confidence and independence as well as offering an active and stimulating classroom environment where they can discover, take risks and learn at their individual pace and ability. Our lessons and learning objectives are created to explore and experience units of study through active, hands-on activities and to foster positive relationships with peers and members of our community.
Our Kindergarten utilizes Zaner Bloser’s SuperKids reading and language arts curriculum and Tara West KinderMath curriculum. KinderScience is used as our science program where students learn about the natural world. Our program has a well-developed Social Studies curriculum (Kinder Social Studies) in which students gain an understanding of the community and offers them an opportunity to give back through community service.
St. Peter’s believes children retain best when they “do” and work to give our students the experience of “doing” through many field trips, science experiments, and opportunities to explore, think, and problem-solve. Students are formally assessed each trimester with report cards and assessed daily through teacher observations, portfolios, and unit recall activities.
